Celebrating Hawaiʻi's 2011 Children and Youth Month

In 1993, Children and Youth Day was established by law as the first Sunday of every October. Later, Act 30, Session Laws of 1997, established October as Children and Youth Month in Hawaiʻi. The Legislature's Keiki Caucus has spearheaded the events for the past eighteen years. We have had great success with the Children and Youth Day, the Outstanding Advocates for Children and Youth Recognition Luncheon, and a Children and Youth Summit.

We were fortunate to have your support in the past and look forward to you continued support. We estimate that we received approximately $90,000 in cash and over $800,000 in in-kind donations last year. Through a partnership of government agencies providing in-kind services and generous corporate sponsorships, we are able to put on meaningful, fun and educational activities for our children, teens and their families. We would like to invite you to be a part of the many exciting events now being planned for Children and Youth Month in October 2011. There are different levels of sponsorships and other ways that you and your organization can become involved.

Thank you in advance for your generous donation toward the 2011 Children & Youth Day event, scheduled for Sunday, October 2, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the State Capitol, Frank F. Fasi Civic Center, ʻIolani Palace grounds, Punchbowl Street, the Kamehameha V Judiciary History Center, Kalanimoku Building and grounds, Washington Place, and Department of Health parking lot.

If you and your organization would like to be a part of this month-long celebration of Hawaiʻi's children and youth, please Visit our Sponsorship Page and fill out the sponsorship form on-line by June 13, 2011. If you have any questions, please contact Tyrell Maʻae, Project Coordinator at . Thank you for your consideration of this request and we look forward to having you be a part of our 18th anniversary celebration.
